Ovarian Cysts
Ovarian cysts are fluid filled sacs in an ovary. Fortunately, the majority of ovarian cysts are not cancer and some cysts go away by themselves.
Ovarian cysts are diagnosed with an ultrasound and sometimes a blood test is required to help determine the risk of the cyst being a cancer.
Depending on the type of ovarian cyst you have and your medical history, surveillance with ultrasound or surgical removal of either the cyst or ovary can be offered.
Dr. Robertson will explain the type of cyst you likely have and which treatment is recommended for you.
