Cervical Surgery

cervical abnormalities Dr Jessica Robertson Gynaecologist St Georges Hospital Sydney

Abnormalities of the cells of the cervix picked up on a cervical screening test and colposcopy can sometimes require an excision of the affected area of the cervix.

A LLETZ or cone biopsy will be performed depending on what type of lesion you have. These procedures can either be performed in Dr. Robertson’s rooms as an outpatient or in theatre with an anaesthetic.

Dr. Robertson will explain which procedure is best suited to you and why.
